updates with photos

this is the bracelet i bought myself today. cute, yes?

this is the sweet potato that sprouted while i was on my road trip. the tallest shoot is about 8.5" tall now. seriously. i just measured it.

this past monday beth & i went to the cubs/astros game that was relocated to milwaukee. not a bad way to spend a day off. :)

last saturday was our family reunion at turkey run. wayne, holly, alicia & i took a walk that included seeing this fuzzy li'l caterpillar ...

some very tall trees ...

leaves that were already changing colors ...

and nature from A to Y.

yes, i'm aware that A to Z would be cooler ... but finding branches naturally growing in the shape of a Z is tricky.

on our way home from the reunion, we stopped at a graveyard.

it included this li'l woolly worm ...

and some nice mushrooms.

One of these days when you're out here we'll have to take a particular hike that i did with some girlfriends a couple summers ago. There were some extraordinarily fun shrooms. And i do mean shrooms. Very psychedelic, and when we got back Rebecca looked them up and found that they 1) are useful in some Indian ceremonies and 2) were reportedly used by Lewis Carroll during the writing of Alice in Wonderland. They were quite fun.

And the bracelet is fun too. Reminds me of that project you were working on, oh... ages ago.

i have to add that while the shrooms were fun to look at, i did not try any and i don't recommend it... just for the sake of clarity!

i want to do some looking for jewelry making pieces similar to what they used to keep this bracelet together. i've not seen them anywhere locally, but they would definitely make the process of stringing the bottle caps together much easier than drilling holes & using jump rings. much, much easier. and the finished product feels a lot more secure. then i can build my own collection. :)

I was VERY impressed, I thought you grew the potato! Not that it grew while you were gone!! Oops!

The A to Y comment made me laugh out loud! Funny!
